Types of tissues (Delonta Cole)

Exocrine Glands - glands that produce and secret substances on an epithelial suface, sweat is a exocrine gland which help cool down the body.

stratified squamous epithelial- outer layer of skin, mouth, leg and etc. Functions in protection, eye lids and eye lashes protect things like dust from entering the eyes.

Adipose tissue - another word is fat  fuctions in insulation and protection. Calf fat is a type of Adipose tissue.

Basement membrane- lower level of tissue. To have a wonderful tatto, tatto artist go into the basement membrane.

Fibrous Connective Tissue- supports and shocks absorption into bones and organs different types of tissue.

Dense Connective Tissue- made up of collagen of tissue or elastic protein fibers.  It has alot of absence of open spaces between cells or fibers located in tendons and ligaments. This tissue is very strong.

Skeletal Muscle Tissue - muscles connected to bones. Functions in producing movement.

Epithelial Tissue- type of tissue that lines the surface and cavities of your body's organ.

Hyaline Cartilage- covers ends of bones at joints.

Bone tissue- structural tissue of  the skeleton support, protection, assisted in movement storage of minerals like the head, feet, neck.

Types of Tissues (N'Dia Vines)

Exocrine Glands- sweat comes from the exocrine glands. Since exocrine means outside thats why the sweat comes outside to cool the body down.
Stratified Squamous Epithelium- outer layer of skin, mouth, leg and etc. Functions in protection. Lips can protect bacteria and other particles from getring into your mouth.
Basement Membrane- the lower level
of the membrane. The tattoo artist had to make sure the tattoo was put below the basement level.

Adipose Tissue- fuctions in insulation and protection. Another name for it is fat. Thigh fat is considered adipose tissue.
Fibrous Connective Tissue- supports and shocks absorption into bones and organs different types of tissue. It is a  high strength and slighty stretchy tissue.
Dense Connective Tissue- made up of collagen of tissue or elastic protein fibers. It had a lot of strength. It has alot of absence of open spaces between cells or fibers located in tendons and ligaments and etc.
Skeletal Muscle Tissue - muscles connected to bones. Functions in producing movement, generates heat and covers your skeleton.

Hyaline Cartilage- covers ends of bones at joints. (padding) It is padding between the arm and elbow.

Epithelial Tissue- type of tissue that lines the surface and cavities of your body's organ. Comes in different shapes and sizes. My head/skull protects my brain.
Bone Tissue (Osseus)- structural tissue of  the skeleton support, protection, assisted in movement storage of minerals (head, feet, necks, hands, legs and etc)

Types of Tissue (Isaiah Thomas)

I used the sponge as an example for eccrine glands because when you squeeze it water/soap would secrete out of the pores of the sponge.

My coat is an example of stratified squamous epithelium because it had multiple layers and protects me from cold weather.

A fitted sheet is an example of basement membrane because it's thin and it separates the mattress (underlying tissue) and the skin.

The cabinet in my kitchen is an example of fiborous connective tissue because the indintations are parallel.

The juice in a pickle jar is an example of adipose tissue because it's loose and surrounds internal organs and the seeds are the adipocytes.

The leg warmer is an example of dense connective tissue because the patterns are woven together parallel.

The shower curtain is an example of skeletal muscle tissue because when water (contractions) hit the curtain it controls the impact by "relaxing" and letting the water slip off of it.

Coconut Oil is an example of Hyaline Cartilage because when used externally it  is smooth and silky.

My skin is epithelial tissue because it secretes sweat and protects my internal surfaces.

Like Bone Tissue, my tablet communicate and exchange information with other devices (osteocytes).

Types of Tissue(your name here)

Types of Tissue that Make Up Our Body

The Tissue Level of Organization

Take a picture of examples of the following types of tissue found within the body.  When I say collect,  I mean you need to collect an item by finding an example and then take a picture of that item that best fits the given terms.  You will post your photographs with corresponding explanations in your own words.  You do not need to find the exact item on the list, say for example, basement membrane.  The ink of tattoos must be injected below the basement membrane.  You must apply the the term to a type of tissue.

Tissue vocabulary - some terms are more specific than others.
1. exocrine glands
2.stratified squamous epithelium
3.  basement membrane
4.  adipose tissue
5.  fibrous connective tissue
6. dense connective tissue
7.  skeletal muscle tissue
8.  hyaline cartilage
9.  epithelial tissue
10.  bone tissue(osseus)

Criteria:
ORIGINAL PICTURES ONLY- You cannot use an image from any publication or the Web.  You may only use an original picture once.

BLOG ITEMS - You must define what term you are using and explain specifically where the tissue is found within your item.

TATTOO - All pictures must have an element of identity so that they are recognized as original i.e.,  a bracelet, an i.d. card.  Be creative but this item cannot dominate the picture.

DUE DATE:  Blog posts must be submitted on or before Tuesday ,November 10, 2015 at 11:59pm.  No exceptions

If you are having technical difficulties, please submit concerns in advance via harris.jawan@gmail.com

This blog assignment is worth two quiz grades.

Happy Blogging!
