Osmosis and Diffusion (Tiffany Ben)

A hypertonic solution is when the molecules outside the cell have a higher concentration of cyotsol. the mixture being made (Bottom) will be poured in the jar w\full of eggs. the eggs will absorb the solution and will cause the eggs to pickle.

A Semi Permeable Membrane only allows certain things to enter into the cell. The wire that is inside the window in schools is a great representation of a semi permeable membrane. It allows only small things to get threw, in others words it is a filter.

Osmosis is the movement of water molecules across the membrane. The eggs were submerged in a vinegar solution. In a couple days the eggs will be pickled showing how the water molecules spread across the eggs membrane.

Diffusion is the movement of particles from high concentration to low concentration.
The solution is infused with red food coloring. The longer the eggs are submerged in the solution the more the color that will take to the egg.

A hypotonic solution has a low concentration of cytosol. This means that it has more solvent in it. the bowl is filled with solvent and contains a non semi permeable membrane.
